Inspiring Letter to Citizens of UAE by their Prime minister Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, the prime minister and vise president of United Arab Emirate wrote this inspiring letter to the citizens of the country, stating out the achievement of the administration in the past 10 years since He assumed office. Read the letter below which He shared via LinkedIn.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Over ten years have passed since I assumed the position of prime minister and vice president of the United Arab Emirates.
In those ten years, we have launched a number of plans and strategies, led a number of reforms of our government, developed systems to track performance and improve services, encouraged innovation and the application of technology across all sectors, established awards, formed thousands of working teams, held numerous retreats and meetings and established many new government agencies.
We can perhaps now, ten years later, ask ourselves: what is the outcome of all this work and activity? It is important to pause occasionally and review our past work, measure our accomplishments and chart our road ahead.
Today, reviewing the past ten years’ work, we stand on a path leading in the next five years to the year 2021, the year which we set as our target year for many objectives and goals. We promised great achievements and aspirations. How far have we come on our road, and how much more do we have to do in the coming five years to fulfill those promises?
In this short address, I would like to highlight a number of indicators of our achievements. I will leave the rest to our government officials and the members of our media to discuss openly, with transparency and without embellishment but with numbers and facts, research and studies so we can right our path if we need to, work harder if required, thank those whose hard work has resulted in achievements, and encourage those who have lagged behind. Through all of this, we remember that our goal is the advancement and glory of our nation and the betterment and happiness of our citizens.
So let us review the past ten years. Despite the global financial crisis and the resulting economic slowdown, despite the upheaval and disorder our region has endured, the United Arab Emirates has shown marked progress in all sectors. Our economy has doubled in the past ten years, from a GDP of 663 billion dirhams to 1,360 billion dirhams, an improvement which has provided jobs and underpinned considerable economic and commercial opportunities for the citizens and residents of our country.
We have continuously stressed in the past ten years, through legislation and policies, the importance of diversifying our economy away from dependence on oil. As a result, our non-petroleum exports have increased from 113 billion dirhams when I assumed office to 603 billion dirhams (including free zone trade) in the past year. The economic contribution of the non-petroleum sector has increased from 66% to some 77% today. This has provided our economy with considerable protection throughout the recent decline in oil prices and meant we have been one of few countries worldwide cushioned against the resultant economic slowdown.
With the development of government systems and services, the public sector’s contribution to GDP has grown from 23 billion dirhams ten years ago to 86 billion dirhams currently. We have seen a major growth in our competitiveness, from being the world’s 32nd most competitive economy to the 16th. This has placed the young nation of the UAE on a par with countries who have hundreds of years of development behind them.
Due to our open economic policies, Foreign Direct Investment has seen a sharp increase from 179 billion to 410 billion dirhams in the past ten years, while our banks’ total assets has increased from 859.6 billion dirhams to 2,478.2 billion dirhams.
When it comes to health and education, which we consider to be among the most important sectors for our people, the indicators of the health sector point to a significant progress. Our expenditure on the health sector has increased from 1.18 billion dirhams when I first assumed office to over 3.82 billion currently. The number of doctors has increased from ten to over seventeen thousand.
In education, we have increased public sector expenditure by 57% to reach 9.75 billion dirhams annually. The number of accredited programs in UAE universities has grown from 206 to 862. The rate of kindergarten enrolment has grown to 93%, making UAE among the highest globally. The rate of high school graduation has also reached 93%, which also makes us among the highest globally as well.
Our work together across all sectors has been tireless. The Excellence awards, Strategic Planning and Government Service Improvement programs, Electronic and Smart Government initiatives, as well as the government performance management systems have not been a waste of time and effort. Our public sector has witnessed significant improvement. The concept of Excellence and reaching first place have become deeply rooted in our government culture. No wonder, then, our public sector has seen marked improvements according to a number of internationally recognised indicators.
The UAE leads the Middle East today in over a hundred pivotal development indicators. In fact, our nation leads globally in a number of indicators, such as the quality of our public infrastructure, roads, maritime and aviation facilities, public safety and security, the rate of female enrollment in our universities, government efficiency and trust in the government, among others.
In 2006, the rate of road accident fatalities was approximately 16 to each 100 thousand population. Today, thanks to the sincere and assiduous work by the teams at the Ministry of Interior, the rate stands at 5.9 to every 100 thousand and continues to improve.
Detailing the accomplishments of our government teams over the past ten years requires much more room than this short address. My message today is not only about celebrating our achievements, but also evaluating the challenges ahead.
A few years ago, we announced the Indicators for our National Agenda. There are 52 national key performance indicators in education, health, housing, society, infrastructure, economy, environment, security, justice, and safety, among others, which we aim at achieving by 2021, to be among the best countries globally by that date, which marks the 50th anniversary of our Union. These indicators form historic goals for us in the next five years. They constitute the greatest challenges ahead of us; challenges we must overcome in the years to come.
A week ago, I received a detailed report about the current progress in achieving these indicators – it stands at 62%, which means 38% of the indicators have not been effectively achieved. We have only 5 years remaining, a very short period in the life of a nation. It is not our custom to appease or ingratiate anyone, because courtesy at the expense of the country is not a sign of nationalism.
Today, we issued a directive to form government teams called “The National Agenda Execution Teams”. The teams comprise 550 members of our government across all sectors and departments, responsible for fulfilling the indicators. The teams will be under my direct supervision to intensify our efforts, mobilize our assets, and redouble our work in the coming period, in order to reach one hundred per cent of the goals of our National Agenda by the year 2021.
There is no room for procrastination, no time for delay. History is a witness to all of us. We have promised our people to accomplish what is best and we shall fulfill our promise. Government work is an honorable duty, and our government will ceaselessly and tirelessly implement its plans and fulfill its objectives.
I will lead this effort and the teams behind it personally. We ask God to guide us to what is best for our country and nation.

Rescued Chibok girl: I fear she is under pressure to follow Islam – Mother

Mother of a rescued Chibok girl, Binta Ali, has expressed fear over her daughter, Amina’s, welfare and future.
Binta said she is worried that her daughter’s life may never be like it used to.
Recall that Amina, one of the over 200 girls abducted from a school in Chibok in April 2014, was found in the Sambisa Forest close to Nigeria’s border with Cameroon in May.
She was found while breastfeeding her four-month-old baby and was rescued by soldiers working together with a civilian vigilante group.
Upon her rescue, she met with President Muhammadu Buhari and has since been reportedly held for months by the Nigerian government and confined to a house in Abuja for a “restoration process”.
But Binta, who has spent the last two months in the house with her daughter, told Reuters, “Before she was kidnapped, she wanted to further her education, but now she is afraid of schooling, and she wants to be close to me at home. She wants a sewing machine so that she can start a business making clothes.”
The victim’s mother further noted that she was worried that her daughter was being pressured into following Islam, having been forced to convert from Christianity to Islam by Boko Haram terrorists during her captivity.
She said, “Amina herself does not want to remain a Muslim.
“An Islamic teacher once visited the house several times and told my daughter to maintain her new faith but she did not want to see him, although the teacher stopped visiting after she complained about him.”
Binta said she was shocked to hear about the hardships faced by her daughter as a captive of the Islamist group.
“She used to be very afraid. She would talk to herself during the night prior to her kidnap, but now she sleeps soundly. She is no longer afraid,” Binta added.
“We learnt that Amina and the other girls, starving and with nothing to cook with, resorted to eating an entire bag of beans and maize raw. I cannot imagine how a human being can eat raw maize and beans like a goat. Other parents have been coming to visit me since I returned, but I have not told them anything, even though I know some of those whose daughters have died.
“Although I’m worried about Amina’s religion and education and uncertainty over when she will be allowed to return home, I still have reasons to be positive about my daughter,” she added.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, according to the news wire, clarified that Amina’s confinement in the house had nothing to do with religion.

Intent Matters by : Jasmine Howson-Wright

What’s the point of a saying “good morning” when you’d rather say “go to hell”.
What’s the point of squeezing out an “I love you” when the last thing on your mind is care?
What’s the point of a strong pull and no support or a warm hug followed by a stab in the back?
What’s the point of helping without empathy, when what lies beneath the deed is self glorification?
What’s the point of being present when one’s presence is truly elsewhere?
What is the point of a smile, when deep within lies disgust and anger?
What is the point of ‘doing’ without sincerity, when ‘not doing’ is an option to spare hurt?
Intent matters!
I have this profound belief that love cannot be imposed on anyone; more so, it shouldn’t have to be. This one ideology has fine tuned my mindset and helped me grow past being a die hard, when it comes to relationships (whichever form they come in).
I strongly believe that you shouldn’t ever have to impose an emotion on anyone. It is not necessary and will never amount to you feeling better about that choice. If a person can’t love you, the best thing you can do for yourself is LET THEM GO AND LOVE WHO THEY CAN LOVE! Keeping a person where they would rather not be, is like deliberately putting bullets in a cylinder and shooting into your chest – one painful bullet at a time. It is never worth it.
Flip the scenario around and you’ll have a situation of the minority of others, who make conscious efforts to avoid and not impose, that these phonies stay. In fact, these few literally see through their acts and know within themselves the danger impending having these phonies around but they don’t go, they stay and act; they go on and on acting – pretending! They tell you good morning but mean to say go to hell; they say, ‘I love you, when they honestly do not care. They pull you towards them with such force and only to let you fall in the opposite direction, HARD. They are the relationships that feel like a warm hug but eventually turn out to be a STAB! They help you, but only to glorify themselves. This scenario is seemingly worst because you subconsciously know they aren’t present but because you actually see them, you want to believe they aren’t really where their presence is, but with you.
Intent matters?
Yes, it does and very much so. Imagine how much easier it would be to live in a world of honest emotions. A world where if I can’t love you, I won’t lie to you but work at simply liking or appreciating you for who you are or keep the distance so another who truly can, is allowed to. A world where if I cannot pull you up from a low without hurting you, I try to find someone else who can. One where going the extra mile is not a catch phrase, a trial and error, a one-day victory sort of event, but rather a conscious and deliberate attempt towards another’s’ happiness.
I recently saw a quote by Wayne Dyer that reads “Our intention creates our reality” and I couldn’t agree more!
I understand that what people do counts most, as opposed to what they intend to do but, I believe that in respect to relationships with human beings (again, in whichever form), the former matters most. I mean you can intend to do something for yourself and not do it, your loss and your personal failure to accept and correct. Now, when it comes to doing or saying something to someone else, when the intent of that act is false, then the reality of it is downright wickedness and in my opinion (and also from what experience gives), there is such a thin, thin…. line between wickedness and false emotion.
You want to compliment a lady because she looks beautiful but judging the history of your relationship with her, you do the opposite. Reality’s verdict – you’re wicked! How about the time you had the opportunity to tell someone their zipper was burst open (in public) and at the opportunity given, you said “wow! That is a lovely skirt”. Telling another you are for them; you always have their back when at the slightest chance you get, you are quick to portion out their secrets for dinner with strangers?
My heartfelt question is – to what gain?
I believe that acts of wickedness are never just mistakes; they do not come upon the doer by chance, nope! They are conscious and thought through, neither is faking an emotion or act any less deliberate.
What does pretence do to these phonies? How does it become second nature to them? Could it be an addiction, a condition, or a birth defect (I mean for people to just act like they have dual personalities?), saying something and meaning another, going extra lengths to push an opinion they would rather on different circumstances, not even think of.
Wait! Or could it be fun? Some type of rush? Thrill, to think that they can play around with another’s trust, acceptance or belief in them?
What if we permit them the benefit of doubt that this could be a product of ignorance on their parts or (and) a seared conscience; not wanting to think past the fallacy they create and remember that intention like a seed, most certainty yields fruits for the sower and that principle of harvest – “What you sow, is what you reap”, is everyone’s portion.
Intent matters.
If the end result of my offering to another is hurt, should I not question my intentions?

Ma Belle : by Bobosteke

You must forgive this meddling woman for intruding once again in your life. But I have heard certain things that disturb this old soul and I cannot keep quiet any longer. I know you are busy and you say time is short. But, it is long enough for what I wish to say. Faire attention a moi.
Ma chou, what is your idea behind the meaning of life because that is what you live every day.
I see the videos they play on TV these days. Songs that show naked women, stacks of money and luxury. You say you just watch them that they don’t mean anything. But haven’t you noticed? Your language, your dressing and your expectations have changed. Maybe you might say you don’t really listen to the lyrics but that they make such danceable chanson. Ah, my beloved, the words you speak are two things: spirit and life. You don’t agree? D’accord.
You sing that you are sick, completely sick of love and all it does is make me remember how many times I have had to nurse your broken heart back to wholeness. You sing that you would give away your soul to hold him once again, and indeed your lifeless life is all I remember when he spurned you yet again and again. You sing that he is the key to your peace of mind, and indeed, all I recall, is how restless you become when you are, how do you say it? Booless?
If a man loves you, he will never ask, “If you really want my heart, prove to me that you want it”. A heart is always freely given. You will never have to prove anything because you already are worth it.
If the boy is yours, you will be still, and let him come to you. Never would have to tell anyone the boy is mine because, au contraire, ma chere, he would be doing all the telling.
You are more than your body. Chansons that praise your face, breasts, andderriere reduce you to viande de boucherie – butchers meat.
Life is tough for everyone, ma chou. Where do you get your strength to live with the love, sadness, joy, and loss that will come your way? I see so many Talk Shows and Reality programs. Ah, sweetest, if only you knew how grander we consider ourselves when the camera is on us. How do you take advice from people who do not even like themselves? What do people who are constantly under the knife, because they want your approval, have to offer? Do you get counselling from people who would say anything to get more ratings for their shows?
I would not wish you to quote a line from a movie you watched to your partner. For my darling, they only work in movies. In your life, there would be no director to yell Cut! and have a scene or line changed. For once spoken, your words will never go back.
Which reminds me, ma chou, I see that you stand in front of the mirror a lot. Is it that you forget what you look like every time you turn away from it? For surely, it cannot be the desire to indulge in self-lust as you turn this way and that to find points of admiration for yourself and from others. And I must believe it is not discontent as you lament the cups that do not run over or the cups that do overflow. Is it the hips that do not lie or the straight plain of a derriere that you lament? Now tell me, ma belle, what do you think makes a woman desirable? Where do you get your standard for beauty? I am not talking of the inner one, we have had more than enough of that. I mean the physical one. Ah oui, je vois… It’s back to those music videos you don’t really watch and those lyrics you say do not matter, no? It’s back to those glossy magazine covers where the models have been photoshopped to within an inch of their lives; perfect for camera but not for real life. Take it from someone who knows, ma puce, there would always be a prettier one; and a prettier one than the prettier one. How many would you compare yourself to before you have peace?
Your measurements were made precisely for you. Do not live your life in the shadow of your insecurities. Lord knows they could be so crippling. Sometimes you will be beautiful, sometimes you will not. What we would not be having is a life time of insanity of comparison to others. Ca ne vaut pas le coup; it is not worth it.
Many women refer to themselves as b*tches- cute. “Baddest b*tch that ever liveth”, I hear some say. I am not saying you are one of them, but I need you to know, just as my friend also said, that it only reveals to everyone that you have been deeply hurt at one time and that because of the pain you carry, you will continue to hurt anyone that reminds you of those moments when you let your guard down and were fooled. But what is some hurt in love if not for lessons? It is foolish to want to spend your whole lifetime as a wise person.
Now, who is that lady I hear you do not like? Why do you not like her? Why is she the one who comes to your mind as you dress up each day? Why do you imagine yourself strutting past her in your grand accessories to make sure she sees you? Have you thought about the silliness of wanting to be noticed by someone you do not like? Calmez-vous and really assess your thoughts.
Tell me something, ma chou, and be truthful, has she got something you want for yourself? If is it is good thing, learn it and be a better person. If it is for the lesser “er’s” (prettier, taller, smaller, bustier, better dresser, better car, more admirers), well, re-read four paragraphs up and come off it!
You must guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life. For a woman who does not guard her mind is like a city broken down without walls.
Watch who you keep as friends. You do not have to be a man to keep your head when others are losing theirs. You can be a woman too.
Grow. Be all that you can be. Life is beautiful in every moment. Oui, even in the painful ones. May God give you the wisdom to see.
Je’taime, mon plus cher un. Always remember who you are.
Au’voir.

Drugs worth N25m seized in Enugu by NAFDAC

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Enugu says it has confiscated unwholesome and unregistered sedative drugs worth more than N25 million.
The State Co-coordinator of the agency, Mr Ikechukwu Okoye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday that the agency was able to achieve that through collaboration with the state Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“To the glory of God; what really happened is inter-departmental (agency) co-operation.
“The customs in Enugu called us they intercepted this (controlled drug) via (Dizapam) Cameroon border were they found a controlled drug.
“They called us to come and check if it was within our jurisdiction; we checked it, we found out that the product was not registered by NAFDAC and the person (importer) was bringing it in illegally.
“So they handed it over to us to be destroyed.
“The comptroller said that they were bringing it in via the land border in Cross River.
“They intercepted it in Cross River and brought it to Enugu, Enugu happens to be their
(customs) headquarters.’’
He, however, said the importer of the seized drugs was at large, adding that the agency and customs officials were making concerted efforts to apprehend him.
The co-ordinator warned members of the public to be wary of products they buy.
“The key thing is being watchful over what one buys and ensuring that each product has NAFDAC number well written.
“The members of the public should also check both the expiring and manufacturing dates of the products that are always written closely together.’’

Author Tim LaHaye dies at the age of 90

Author, pastor and prophet Tim LaHaye died of a stroke on Monday. He was 90.
LaHaye was perhaps best known for his Left Behind end times series with co-author Jerry B. Jenkins.
"Thrilled as I am that he is where he has always wanted to be, his departure leaves a void in my soul I don't expect to fill until I see him again," Jenkins said. "The Tim LaHaye I got to know had a pastor's heart and lived to share his faith. He listened to and cared about everyone, regardless of age, gender, or social standing. If Tim was missing from the autograph table or the green room of a network television show, he was likely in a corner praying with someone he'd just met—from a reader to a part-time bookstore stock clerk to a TV network anchorman."
LaHaye spent almost 70 years in the pulpit. He wrote more than 60 nonfiction books, including tomes on prophecy.
He led multiple churches, including Shadow Mountain, which is now pastored by David Jeremiah.
"For 35 of those years I have been his pastor. From the very beginning, he has encouraged me, and I have honored him," Jeremiah said. "Tim was one of the most godly men I have ever known. Almost every conversation I had with him ended with his praying with me and for me. He wrote me extended letters of appreciation for what God was doing in our church. We shared long lunches together talking about ministry and praying for our nation. When I look back over Tim LaHaye's life, I am reminded of Paul's words concerning King David: 'He served his own generation by the will of God.'"
According to his obituary:
Joining Dr. LaHaye for most of his journey was the former Beverly Ratcliffe, whom he married on July 5, 1947. Mrs. LaHaye—a powerhouse in her own right—founded Concerned Women for America in 1979, the nation's largest public policy organization for women with 600,000 members.
Their union prompted Time magazine in 2005 to name the LaHayes "The Christian Power Couple." The proclamation came as the magazine named Dr. LaHaye as one of the 25 most influential evangelicals in America.
Early in his ministerial career, Dr. LaHaye pastored churches in South Carolina and Minnesota before moving his family to California. They settled in San Diego County, where he took the reins of Scott Memorial Baptist Church. Under his 25-year leadership, the congregation expanded to three locations, including what is now Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon.
Dr. LaHaye also founded two accredited Christian high schools, a school system of 10 Christian schools and what is now San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College). In 1972 he co-founded the Institute for Creation Research with the late Dr. Henry Morris.
As a couple, the LaHayes hosted a radio show and, later, a TV program called "The LaHayes on Family Life." In keeping with their faith, the show promoted Christian values.
During the 1970s Dr. LaHaye was instrumental in gathering a coalition of Southern California pastors together to address a progressive agenda that was undermining traditional family values. Also in the '70s, he encouraged the late Jerry Falwell Sr. to establish the Moral Majority as a way to build a similar coalition nationally. He was also widely credited with garnering evangelical support behind the campaign of George W. Bush.
Besides co-authoring the 16-book "Left Behind" series—which sold more than 80 million copies, topping the best-selling lists of The New York TimesUSA TodayWall Street JournalPublishers Weekly, and Christian Booksellers Association—LaHaye was a prolific non-fiction author, penning 60 different titles that sold 14 million copies in as many as 32 languages. Topics he explored included family life, temperaments, the biblical view of sex and marriage, Bible prophecy, the will of God, Jesus Christ and secular humanism.
Other ministries he either founded or co-founded include Tim LaHaye Ministries, the PreTrib Research Center and the Tim LaHaye School of Prophecy at Liberty University. He also designed the LaHaye Temperament Analysis, a self-improvement tool that has been used by more than 30,000 people.
LaHaye is survived by his wife Beverly, four children; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard LaHaye; and a sister, Margaret White.

Sudan coach claims Flying Eagles underrated his players

Head coach of Sudan’s U-20 team, Mohammed Abdullah Mazda, has praised his team for overturning a first-leg defeat to Nigeria, to qualify for the 2017 U-20 AFCON in Zambia.
Mazda’s boys came from behind to shock the Flying Eagles 4-3 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday, qualifying for next year’s tournament on away goals rule.
Speaking after the game, he said the hosts paid the price for underrating them.
“Despite losing the first leg at home, we still believed we could still qualify and that reflected in our performance today,” he told CompleteSports.
“Your team (the Flying Eagles) thought everthing was over after the first leg, but we showed them the other side of football.
“I want to congratulate my players for their effort. They wanted the win more than Nigeria and that is why we are going to Zambia.”

Buhari should stop acting like grandfather of corruption – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by shielding his men from probe.
This is just as he asked Nigerians to demand the release of the authentic report of the Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He described claim by the federal government that the probe panel only looked into procurement and contracts awarded by the military between 2011-2015 because documents regarding procurement from 2007 to 2010 were not available as a clear indication of his support for corruption.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “it is now obvious to the entire world that anyone that is in President Buhari’s good books can never be adjudged as corrupt even if such a person is caught looting the entire money in Nigeria’s treasury.”
The governor said it smacked of sheer hypocrisy and nepotism for anyone to accept that fraud could have been perpetrated on procurement and award of contracts in an establishment without the involvement of the director of procurement.
“There are many petitions relating to the defence from 2007 that are being discarded, the question is why? There are several petitions against APC leaders that are not being looked into, the question is why?
“Fghting corruption and targeting only opponents of the president is in itself corruption,” he said.
He said; “Buhari’s’ Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) was Chief of Army Staff between 2008 and 2010 and the current Chief Of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Buratai served as Director of Procurements, Defence Headquarters, from 2012 till May 2015.
“It is a fact that the committee in its terms of reference said it queried all procurement from 2007 to 2015. Even the Press Release issued was titled; ‘Third Interim Report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015.’
“First paragraph of the committee report also indicated that it used 2007-2015 as reference, stating that the committee ‘analysed procurement contracts awarded by or for the Nigerian Army between 2007 and 2015.’
“Questions Nigerians must now begin to ask President Buhari and his government are: where is the report of Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement relating to 2007 to 2010? Who doctored the committee report and why?
“Lai Mohammed said the Committee would commence the audit of procurement from 2007 to 2010 ‘as soon as the necessary documents are available’, it is necessary that Nigerians are told who the custodians of the documents are. Why were documents on procurement from 2011 and 2015 available and those of 2007 to 2010 not available?
“Early this year, we were told that an ally of President Buhari and chieftain of the APC, Brig. General Jafaru Isa (rtd) refunded N100 million of the N170 million he allegedly received from ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
“Jafaru Isa who was a member of the 19-man Buhari Transition Committee was released after he was allegedly assisted by the Presidency to refund N100 million to the anti-graft commission and since then, nothing has been heard about the case. He was not charged to court like others.
“It took the Ministry of Defence and ths Code of Conduct Bureau only one week to clear Buratai but others from the opposition party would be languishing in prison while EFCC go about fishing for evidence against them.
“Like I and other well-meaning Nigerians have maintained, fighting corruption is a good idea but the moment documents of probe panels and being doctored to shield those seen as the President’s men, the entire purpose of the corruption fight has been defeated.
“The international community must therefore prevail on President Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by making the anti-corruption war all-inclusive instead of this clear persecution of his perceived political enemies, and the first step to demonstrate that will be the immediate release of report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement covering 2007 to 2015.”
