The new CAN President is Rev. Samson Ayokunle, this announcement was made today, 14 June 2016, by the out going president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor at about 2:30pm.
Rev Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle, the President of Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) and Candidate of Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) made it through with 57 votes to 28 votes.
Prof. Joseph Otubu who is the runner up automatically becomes the Vice President according to CAN constitution, for the next three years, when sworn in.
