Intent Matters by : Jasmine Howson-Wright

What’s the point of a saying “good morning” when you’d rather say “go to hell”.
What’s the point of squeezing out an “I love you” when the last thing on your mind is care?
What’s the point of a strong pull and no support or a warm hug followed by a stab in the back?
What’s the point of helping without empathy, when what lies beneath the deed is self glorification?
What’s the point of being present when one’s presence is truly elsewhere?
What is the point of a smile, when deep within lies disgust and anger?
What is the point of ‘doing’ without sincerity, when ‘not doing’ is an option to spare hurt?
Intent matters!
I have this profound belief that love cannot be imposed on anyone; more so, it shouldn’t have to be. This one ideology has fine tuned my mindset and helped me grow past being a die hard, when it comes to relationships (whichever form they come in).
I strongly believe that you shouldn’t ever have to impose an emotion on anyone. It is not necessary and will never amount to you feeling better about that choice. If a person can’t love you, the best thing you can do for yourself is LET THEM GO AND LOVE WHO THEY CAN LOVE! Keeping a person where they would rather not be, is like deliberately putting bullets in a cylinder and shooting into your chest – one painful bullet at a time. It is never worth it.
Flip the scenario around and you’ll have a situation of the minority of others, who make conscious efforts to avoid and not impose, that these phonies stay. In fact, these few literally see through their acts and know within themselves the danger impending having these phonies around but they don’t go, they stay and act; they go on and on acting – pretending! They tell you good morning but mean to say go to hell; they say, ‘I love you, when they honestly do not care. They pull you towards them with such force and only to let you fall in the opposite direction, HARD. They are the relationships that feel like a warm hug but eventually turn out to be a STAB! They help you, but only to glorify themselves. This scenario is seemingly worst because you subconsciously know they aren’t present but because you actually see them, you want to believe they aren’t really where their presence is, but with you.
Intent matters?
Yes, it does and very much so. Imagine how much easier it would be to live in a world of honest emotions. A world where if I can’t love you, I won’t lie to you but work at simply liking or appreciating you for who you are or keep the distance so another who truly can, is allowed to. A world where if I cannot pull you up from a low without hurting you, I try to find someone else who can. One where going the extra mile is not a catch phrase, a trial and error, a one-day victory sort of event, but rather a conscious and deliberate attempt towards another’s’ happiness.
I recently saw a quote by Wayne Dyer that reads “Our intention creates our reality” and I couldn’t agree more!
I understand that what people do counts most, as opposed to what they intend to do but, I believe that in respect to relationships with human beings (again, in whichever form), the former matters most. I mean you can intend to do something for yourself and not do it, your loss and your personal failure to accept and correct. Now, when it comes to doing or saying something to someone else, when the intent of that act is false, then the reality of it is downright wickedness and in my opinion (and also from what experience gives), there is such a thin, thin…. line between wickedness and false emotion.
You want to compliment a lady because she looks beautiful but judging the history of your relationship with her, you do the opposite. Reality’s verdict – you’re wicked! How about the time you had the opportunity to tell someone their zipper was burst open (in public) and at the opportunity given, you said “wow! That is a lovely skirt”. Telling another you are for them; you always have their back when at the slightest chance you get, you are quick to portion out their secrets for dinner with strangers?
My heartfelt question is – to what gain?
I believe that acts of wickedness are never just mistakes; they do not come upon the doer by chance, nope! They are conscious and thought through, neither is faking an emotion or act any less deliberate.
What does pretence do to these phonies? How does it become second nature to them? Could it be an addiction, a condition, or a birth defect (I mean for people to just act like they have dual personalities?), saying something and meaning another, going extra lengths to push an opinion they would rather on different circumstances, not even think of.
Wait! Or could it be fun? Some type of rush? Thrill, to think that they can play around with another’s trust, acceptance or belief in them?
What if we permit them the benefit of doubt that this could be a product of ignorance on their parts or (and) a seared conscience; not wanting to think past the fallacy they create and remember that intention like a seed, most certainty yields fruits for the sower and that principle of harvest – “What you sow, is what you reap”, is everyone’s portion.
Intent matters.
If the end result of my offering to another is hurt, should I not question my intentions?

Ma Belle : by Bobosteke

You must forgive this meddling woman for intruding once again in your life. But I have heard certain things that disturb this old soul and I cannot keep quiet any longer. I know you are busy and you say time is short. But, it is long enough for what I wish to say. Faire attention a moi.
Ma chou, what is your idea behind the meaning of life because that is what you live every day.
I see the videos they play on TV these days. Songs that show naked women, stacks of money and luxury. You say you just watch them that they don’t mean anything. But haven’t you noticed? Your language, your dressing and your expectations have changed. Maybe you might say you don’t really listen to the lyrics but that they make such danceable chanson. Ah, my beloved, the words you speak are two things: spirit and life. You don’t agree? D’accord.
You sing that you are sick, completely sick of love and all it does is make me remember how many times I have had to nurse your broken heart back to wholeness. You sing that you would give away your soul to hold him once again, and indeed your lifeless life is all I remember when he spurned you yet again and again. You sing that he is the key to your peace of mind, and indeed, all I recall, is how restless you become when you are, how do you say it? Booless?
If a man loves you, he will never ask, “If you really want my heart, prove to me that you want it”. A heart is always freely given. You will never have to prove anything because you already are worth it.
If the boy is yours, you will be still, and let him come to you. Never would have to tell anyone the boy is mine because, au contraire, ma chere, he would be doing all the telling.
You are more than your body. Chansons that praise your face, breasts, andderriere reduce you to viande de boucherie – butchers meat.
Life is tough for everyone, ma chou. Where do you get your strength to live with the love, sadness, joy, and loss that will come your way? I see so many Talk Shows and Reality programs. Ah, sweetest, if only you knew how grander we consider ourselves when the camera is on us. How do you take advice from people who do not even like themselves? What do people who are constantly under the knife, because they want your approval, have to offer? Do you get counselling from people who would say anything to get more ratings for their shows?
I would not wish you to quote a line from a movie you watched to your partner. For my darling, they only work in movies. In your life, there would be no director to yell Cut! and have a scene or line changed. For once spoken, your words will never go back.
Which reminds me, ma chou, I see that you stand in front of the mirror a lot. Is it that you forget what you look like every time you turn away from it? For surely, it cannot be the desire to indulge in self-lust as you turn this way and that to find points of admiration for yourself and from others. And I must believe it is not discontent as you lament the cups that do not run over or the cups that do overflow. Is it the hips that do not lie or the straight plain of a derriere that you lament? Now tell me, ma belle, what do you think makes a woman desirable? Where do you get your standard for beauty? I am not talking of the inner one, we have had more than enough of that. I mean the physical one. Ah oui, je vois… It’s back to those music videos you don’t really watch and those lyrics you say do not matter, no? It’s back to those glossy magazine covers where the models have been photoshopped to within an inch of their lives; perfect for camera but not for real life. Take it from someone who knows, ma puce, there would always be a prettier one; and a prettier one than the prettier one. How many would you compare yourself to before you have peace?
Your measurements were made precisely for you. Do not live your life in the shadow of your insecurities. Lord knows they could be so crippling. Sometimes you will be beautiful, sometimes you will not. What we would not be having is a life time of insanity of comparison to others. Ca ne vaut pas le coup; it is not worth it.
Many women refer to themselves as b*tches- cute. “Baddest b*tch that ever liveth”, I hear some say. I am not saying you are one of them, but I need you to know, just as my friend also said, that it only reveals to everyone that you have been deeply hurt at one time and that because of the pain you carry, you will continue to hurt anyone that reminds you of those moments when you let your guard down and were fooled. But what is some hurt in love if not for lessons? It is foolish to want to spend your whole lifetime as a wise person.
Now, who is that lady I hear you do not like? Why do you not like her? Why is she the one who comes to your mind as you dress up each day? Why do you imagine yourself strutting past her in your grand accessories to make sure she sees you? Have you thought about the silliness of wanting to be noticed by someone you do not like? Calmez-vous and really assess your thoughts.
Tell me something, ma chou, and be truthful, has she got something you want for yourself? If is it is good thing, learn it and be a better person. If it is for the lesser “er’s” (prettier, taller, smaller, bustier, better dresser, better car, more admirers), well, re-read four paragraphs up and come off it!
You must guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life. For a woman who does not guard her mind is like a city broken down without walls.
Watch who you keep as friends. You do not have to be a man to keep your head when others are losing theirs. You can be a woman too.
Grow. Be all that you can be. Life is beautiful in every moment. Oui, even in the painful ones. May God give you the wisdom to see.
Je’taime, mon plus cher un. Always remember who you are.
Au’voir.

Drugs worth N25m seized in Enugu by NAFDAC

The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Enugu says it has confiscated unwholesome and unregistered sedative drugs worth more than N25 million.
The State Co-coordinator of the agency, Mr Ikechukwu Okoye, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday that the agency was able to achieve that through collaboration with the state Command of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“To the glory of God; what really happened is inter-departmental (agency) co-operation.
“The customs in Enugu called us they intercepted this (controlled drug) via (Dizapam) Cameroon border were they found a controlled drug.
“They called us to come and check if it was within our jurisdiction; we checked it, we found out that the product was not registered by NAFDAC and the person (importer) was bringing it in illegally.
“So they handed it over to us to be destroyed.
“The comptroller said that they were bringing it in via the land border in Cross River.
“They intercepted it in Cross River and brought it to Enugu, Enugu happens to be their
(customs) headquarters.’’
He, however, said the importer of the seized drugs was at large, adding that the agency and customs officials were making concerted efforts to apprehend him.
The co-ordinator warned members of the public to be wary of products they buy.
“The key thing is being watchful over what one buys and ensuring that each product has NAFDAC number well written.
“The members of the public should also check both the expiring and manufacturing dates of the products that are always written closely together.’’

Author Tim LaHaye dies at the age of 90

Author, pastor and prophet Tim LaHaye died of a stroke on Monday. He was 90.
LaHaye was perhaps best known for his Left Behind end times series with co-author Jerry B. Jenkins.
"Thrilled as I am that he is where he has always wanted to be, his departure leaves a void in my soul I don't expect to fill until I see him again," Jenkins said. "The Tim LaHaye I got to know had a pastor's heart and lived to share his faith. He listened to and cared about everyone, regardless of age, gender, or social standing. If Tim was missing from the autograph table or the green room of a network television show, he was likely in a corner praying with someone he'd just met—from a reader to a part-time bookstore stock clerk to a TV network anchorman."
LaHaye spent almost 70 years in the pulpit. He wrote more than 60 nonfiction books, including tomes on prophecy.
He led multiple churches, including Shadow Mountain, which is now pastored by David Jeremiah.
"For 35 of those years I have been his pastor. From the very beginning, he has encouraged me, and I have honored him," Jeremiah said. "Tim was one of the most godly men I have ever known. Almost every conversation I had with him ended with his praying with me and for me. He wrote me extended letters of appreciation for what God was doing in our church. We shared long lunches together talking about ministry and praying for our nation. When I look back over Tim LaHaye's life, I am reminded of Paul's words concerning King David: 'He served his own generation by the will of God.'"
According to his obituary:
Joining Dr. LaHaye for most of his journey was the former Beverly Ratcliffe, whom he married on July 5, 1947. Mrs. LaHaye—a powerhouse in her own right—founded Concerned Women for America in 1979, the nation's largest public policy organization for women with 600,000 members.
Their union prompted Time magazine in 2005 to name the LaHayes "The Christian Power Couple." The proclamation came as the magazine named Dr. LaHaye as one of the 25 most influential evangelicals in America.
Early in his ministerial career, Dr. LaHaye pastored churches in South Carolina and Minnesota before moving his family to California. They settled in San Diego County, where he took the reins of Scott Memorial Baptist Church. Under his 25-year leadership, the congregation expanded to three locations, including what is now Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon.
Dr. LaHaye also founded two accredited Christian high schools, a school system of 10 Christian schools and what is now San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College). In 1972 he co-founded the Institute for Creation Research with the late Dr. Henry Morris.
As a couple, the LaHayes hosted a radio show and, later, a TV program called "The LaHayes on Family Life." In keeping with their faith, the show promoted Christian values.
During the 1970s Dr. LaHaye was instrumental in gathering a coalition of Southern California pastors together to address a progressive agenda that was undermining traditional family values. Also in the '70s, he encouraged the late Jerry Falwell Sr. to establish the Moral Majority as a way to build a similar coalition nationally. He was also widely credited with garnering evangelical support behind the campaign of George W. Bush.
Besides co-authoring the 16-book "Left Behind" series—which sold more than 80 million copies, topping the best-selling lists of The New York TimesUSA TodayWall Street JournalPublishers Weekly, and Christian Booksellers Association—LaHaye was a prolific non-fiction author, penning 60 different titles that sold 14 million copies in as many as 32 languages. Topics he explored included family life, temperaments, the biblical view of sex and marriage, Bible prophecy, the will of God, Jesus Christ and secular humanism.
Other ministries he either founded or co-founded include Tim LaHaye Ministries, the PreTrib Research Center and the Tim LaHaye School of Prophecy at Liberty University. He also designed the LaHaye Temperament Analysis, a self-improvement tool that has been used by more than 30,000 people.
LaHaye is survived by his wife Beverly, four children; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard LaHaye; and a sister, Margaret White.

Sudan coach claims Flying Eagles underrated his players

Head coach of Sudan’s U-20 team, Mohammed Abdullah Mazda, has praised his team for overturning a first-leg defeat to Nigeria, to qualify for the 2017 U-20 AFCON in Zambia.
Mazda’s boys came from behind to shock the Flying Eagles 4-3 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday, qualifying for next year’s tournament on away goals rule.
Speaking after the game, he said the hosts paid the price for underrating them.
“Despite losing the first leg at home, we still believed we could still qualify and that reflected in our performance today,” he told CompleteSports.
“Your team (the Flying Eagles) thought everthing was over after the first leg, but we showed them the other side of football.
“I want to congratulate my players for their effort. They wanted the win more than Nigeria and that is why we are going to Zambia.”

Buhari should stop acting like grandfather of corruption – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by shielding his men from probe.
This is just as he asked Nigerians to demand the release of the authentic report of the Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
He described claim by the federal government that the probe panel only looked into procurement and contracts awarded by the military between 2011-2015 because documents regarding procurement from 2007 to 2010 were not available as a clear indication of his support for corruption.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “it is now obvious to the entire world that anyone that is in President Buhari’s good books can never be adjudged as corrupt even if such a person is caught looting the entire money in Nigeria’s treasury.”
The governor said it smacked of sheer hypocrisy and nepotism for anyone to accept that fraud could have been perpetrated on procurement and award of contracts in an establishment without the involvement of the director of procurement.
“There are many petitions relating to the defence from 2007 that are being discarded, the question is why? There are several petitions against APC leaders that are not being looked into, the question is why?
“Fghting corruption and targeting only opponents of the president is in itself corruption,” he said.
He said; “Buhari’s’ Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd) was Chief of Army Staff between 2008 and 2010 and the current Chief Of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Buratai served as Director of Procurements, Defence Headquarters, from 2012 till May 2015.
“It is a fact that the committee in its terms of reference said it queried all procurement from 2007 to 2015. Even the Press Release issued was titled; ‘Third Interim Report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015.’
“First paragraph of the committee report also indicated that it used 2007-2015 as reference, stating that the committee ‘analysed procurement contracts awarded by or for the Nigerian Army between 2007 and 2015.’
“Questions Nigerians must now begin to ask President Buhari and his government are: where is the report of Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement relating to 2007 to 2010? Who doctored the committee report and why?
“Lai Mohammed said the Committee would commence the audit of procurement from 2007 to 2010 ‘as soon as the necessary documents are available’, it is necessary that Nigerians are told who the custodians of the documents are. Why were documents on procurement from 2011 and 2015 available and those of 2007 to 2010 not available?
“Early this year, we were told that an ally of President Buhari and chieftain of the APC, Brig. General Jafaru Isa (rtd) refunded N100 million of the N170 million he allegedly received from ex-NSA, Sambo Dasuki.
“Jafaru Isa who was a member of the 19-man Buhari Transition Committee was released after he was allegedly assisted by the Presidency to refund N100 million to the anti-graft commission and since then, nothing has been heard about the case. He was not charged to court like others.
“It took the Ministry of Defence and ths Code of Conduct Bureau only one week to clear Buratai but others from the opposition party would be languishing in prison while EFCC go about fishing for evidence against them.
“Like I and other well-meaning Nigerians have maintained, fighting corruption is a good idea but the moment documents of probe panels and being doctored to shield those seen as the President’s men, the entire purpose of the corruption fight has been defeated.
“The international community must therefore prevail on President Buhari to stop acting like the grandfather of corruption in Nigeria by making the anti-corruption war all-inclusive instead of this clear persecution of his perceived political enemies, and the first step to demonstrate that will be the immediate release of report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement covering 2007 to 2015.”

I will win again if presidential election holds today – Buhari boasts

President Muhammadu Buhari has boasted that he is still as popular as he was during the 2015 presidential election.
Buhari said this in an interview with the magazine, African Leadership.
His words: “Yes, I was elected by an overwhelming majority of Nigerians, and I am ever grateful for the opportunity I have been given to serve.
“However, I don’t consider the result of the so-called survey a slip in my public rating and acceptance. I appreciate the high expectations of Nigerians and as an administration we are working assiduously to deliver.
“We came in with a mantra of Change and the zeal to give a new lease of life to governance. Our zeal has remained the same and we are always prepared to make the difference.
“You will recall that when I was being sworn in, I emphasized that as a government, three key areas will be the priorities. The first is the need to rebuild the economy. I also pledged to fight insecurity while the third and equally important area is the fight against corruption.
“Nigeria will soon be back on track. Before now, we have been having sleepless nights in Nigeria with Boko Haram having field days in tormenting people, most especially in the North-Eastern part of the country. So far, we have shown resilience in stopping these people and yet many criticize the approach we are using.
“What I think our people should know is that a process of change is difficult as it requires endurance and patience. China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and other great Asian countries had at different times passed through processes of change. They are far better off today.
“And some of these countries were at par with Nigeria in terms of development some five decades ago. We are attempting to do the same here to say let us stop building individuals, let us stop making those who serve in government get stupendously wealthy at the expense of ordinary Nigerians they had sworn to serve.
“Rather, we should concentrate on building strong institutions. Let us introduce economic prosperity by bringing in more investors to catalyze a sense of competition to grow our economy. Let there be law and order in our ways.”
He urged Nigerians to “continue to exercise patience and let them know that we will not rest on our oars until we bring succour back to them and to the country. From our efforts so far.”

CAN enjoins FCT Christians to put on hold proposed peaceful protest By CALEB AYANSINA ABUJA – The Christian Association of Nigeria, Wednesday, described the recent attacks on Christians in Nigeria as a spot on the symbol of the county’s unity that must be urgently addressed. The Chairman, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter of CAN, Rev. Israel Akanji called on all Christians in the FCT to put on hold proposed peaceful protest on the killing of Mrs. Elisha Olawale, who was murdered on Christian Evangelism in FCT. According to him, “although we are yet to see our FCT Minister on this matter, I wish to assure all aggrieved people, particularly Christians to put on hold any action.
“We wish to appeal for calmness to all our Christian faithful on this matter. Several zones of CAN have called to seek permission for protests against what happened
.” Akanbi, who stated this while reacting to the killing during a press conference, in Abuja, also called on government and all security agencies, to act appropriately to prevent its escalation. He said; “the circumstances of the killing of this woman is worrisome as it could be interpreted as disallowing the right of speech and worship which the constitution defends. “While such an act is condemnable anywhere in the country, it is most to be abhorred in Abuja, being the symbol of Nigeria’s unity. “There is need to nip this unacceptable behaviour on the board so that it would not infringe on the peace which has existed in the FCT.
“FCT CAN resolved that the government must act convincingly about this occurrence to show that it is strongly unacceptable. That acts of brutality like in this case, if not immediately firmly checked, could escalate in frequency, intensity and sophistication.”

Having an Amazing Wedding Without Breaking the Bank : by Jane Michael Ekanem

We all say weddings are once-in-a-lifetime, ones that brides dream of from an early age and grooms look forward to (when they finally are at the ‘ready to marry’ stage). For many this is a time to splurge and have the best day of both your lives and while it is possible to have a spectacular wedding, you can do that without breaking the bank – you will be the one with the bills after the guests are gone.
Planning a wedding is crazy, even small weddings; which is why more often than not couples are advised to hire a planner, or enlist friends who have great organizational abilities. You should keep in mind that your planners are not the ones blowing away cash, you are.
In order to avoid crazy debts, you should –
  • Have a realistic budget: Every good wedding plan should start with the numbers. Avoiding the common issues of falling in love with a venue or wedding attire without considering the cost implications; remember every little expense adds up in the end. All you really need to do is to marry the person you love on that day. Money is not the only way to acquire things and services. If you have something to offer or trade, or favors to cash in, then by all means do.
  • Choose your venue and décor carefully I think the venue and décor should be decided on really early and then have stuff planned around that. It is important that your venue can hold all your guests and the overflow. Keep all venues fairly close; not many people will attend a wedding ceremony in Ikeja and a reception in Lekki. Many of the people who really care about you will try to be there for your big day. There may be a couple of friends and family likely to travel and at considerable expense to attend your wedding, so make sure they are comfortable. The décor for your venue should also be considered, it is always more than floral arrangement; it also includes table cloths, drinking glasses, centerpieces, napkins and what have you.
  • Get a handle on your guest list: I think we can agree that while the wedding is more about family and friends witnessing the matrimony, it is still your big day. Avoid trying to please everyone as you can’t invite every friend of your mom and cousins to your wedding. If your family wants more people than you can handle or are comfortable with, lovingly put your foot down because sometimes it really isn’t about them contributing financially; but a hoard of guests could cost more in other ways.
  • Do not assume money will come from…: Consult your parents to see if they would be helping out and be clear about who is paying for what. It is really risky to ‘hope’ that money will materialize out of somewhere even if you are expecting the funds. If friends and family had promised to contribute, try to make them come through way before it becomes a problem.
  • Consider wedding party costs: Do you really need 10 brides, 10 groomsmen, 4 flower girls and 2 ring bearers? The cost for your wedding party can really put a hole in your wedding budget if you feel the need to ask all your nearest and dearest to stand up with you on your wedding day. After being such a big help, It is important to thank your attendants with a tangible gift to show your appreciation. Sit down with your bride/husband-to-be and consider what part of your finances will be allocated to that.
  • Have your vendors in view: We know there is a reason you aren’t catering your own wedding or playing music from your stereo; you want a beautiful and organized day. However, you need to take matters concerning your vendors seriously. Do not skim through contracts, take time to read  it all after you have taken time to decide who gets the job. Stay away from inflexible vendors and have no qualms about firing anyone who makes your planning difficult, even family. Remember to feed your DJ, Caterers, Photographers, Band, Lighting and Sound Techies e.t.c; and above all let them do their jobs!
  • Avoid taking too many opinions: Sometimes seeking the opinions of so many well-meaning people- they do mean well for real – might be the death of you. Do not get pushed into picking a theme you do not want, a dress you’ll hate or to tone it down when you want to blow it up (within reason of course). Always put yourself first and trust your gut. Especially about your wedding. If something doesn’t feel right – take note of that feeling. It is alright to talk to a select few about it, but ultimately decide for YOURSELF.
    • Never forget your ‘getting ready’ plans: If you and your wedding party plan to get ready in a hotel or anywhere away from home, pay attention to check in/check out,  meals on the wedding morning. Have a checklist when packing as any forgotten items like shoes or earrings will have to be replaced and of course impromptu items leave no time for haggling.
    • Do not allow stress creep in: Try to minimize your obligations during the week of your wedding day; having your wedding the day after your finals or after 5 mini projects and 20 meetings will do nothing to help your stress level. You need to look relaxed and ready to affirm your vows, not harried and obligated. You should also make all information on your invitation to people really detailed, this will help field all unnecessary calls.
    • Remember hidden costs: Couples rarely factor in costs that never made it into the planning of the actual wedding day. These costs may include your bachelor and bachelorette parties, pre-wedding photos, wedding dress alterations (due to weight gain or loss before the big day), and hair and makeup trials. Re-wear dresses you own to your engagement party, bridal shower and rehearsal dinner and that way you can save money. Something else, your wedding costs do not end after the ‘I do’, thank you notes and calls have to be taken care of post-wedding so remember to keep it in budget too.
No planning is perfect regardless of how much expertise goes into it. Have in mind that mishaps can and will happen, so take it all in good stride. Do not try to control everything just let the day unfold beautifully and most importantly, do not let anything or anyone steal your thunder.
