Dr Oby Ezekwesili gets an Honorary Degree from the University of Essex

Dr. Obiageli “Oby” Ezekwesili, the Former Vice President of World Bank Africa region and Minister of Education and Co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, was conferred with a Honorary degree from the University of Essex today 12th July 2016.
she gave some inspiring words to the new graduates, she explained  how her father inspired her. read below

"It is actually a humbling experience, I considered this to be as so inspiring from the work i have done so far in my career, and the university of Essex as one of the  top university in the world training people who will be leaders in business, civil society in government, is a reflection of what my career has been about, across those sectors, and the values the university founded on are very similar to the one I was raised on. I believe that my father was a very important part of what became of me, He made me feel restrained, he told me i could be anyone, i could be anything, I just had the tabula rasa to write anything i want to write concerning  my life and he kept saying to me that if i would be diligent in the things that i do, if i would be make knowledge an important part of my life, if i would just continue to learn, i would be able to over reach my own expectations".

She added saying "be fearless, there is nothing in this world that should scare you, just completely be courageous, be fearless pursue anything, that you define beyond attainment, it doesn't even have to be something that you think you can attain. let it be wild but pursue it, just be fearless, nothing should keep you bound, absolutely nothing. Above all i think that the more that you would establish your pattern in terms of what values you stand for, make it very clear that you are not willing to negotiate those values, the world will meet you on your own time of values"
